Dementia Awareness Training

The Centre organised a dementia awareness training session for the members of the School of Informatics, facilitated by Jan Brown from the heart of Newhaven: Meeting Centre. Jan has worked with Alzheimer Scotland as a Dementia Advisor and has personal experience of the challenges faced by families living with dementia. The training introduced participants to a range of dementias and provided a safe space for them to ask questions. Jan’s aim was to increase awareness of how we can make research practice more inclusive and identify ways to improve community access for all.
